This semester, Aix-Marseille University is hosting the first UNITWIN Common Lessons focused on Best Practices in underwater archaeology. These lessons give students and young researchers an opportunity to explore practical examples of UNESCO-recognized approaches, from excavation to conservation and exhibition.
Participants can follow the courses live online, and each session will later be available on the website for wider access. The series began in November with the Arles-Rhône 3 shipwreck, showcasing the full journey from excavation and conservation to exhibition.
On the first Friday of December, the series continues with the second course: Franca Cibecchini (DRASSM) and Pierre Poveda (CCJ, CNRS, AMU) will present the excavation of the Roman-Hellenistic shipwreck Fort Royal 1 in Cannes, France.
